Welcome

Our sympathy goes to the victims and their loved ones who are affected by the tsunami of 2004. The forum remains open and the webservice active for those who wish to participate.

We remember that in the morning of December 26 2004, an exceptionally great earthquake occurred to the northwest of the island of Sumatra. The earthquake caused a rupture in the earth’s crust some 1,200 km long and a tidal wave or tsunami of immense proportions. The tsunami caused widespread devastation particularly on the coasts of Sumatra, Thailand, Sri Lanka and India; about 300,000 people were killed or lost. Numerous victims were also made in people from other nationalities that were working in these areas.  Five years have passed by - on December 26, 2009 the whole world will once more remember this event.
